As you are aware, we at Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley have spent the past few months finding new and innovative ways to continue our mission during the COVID-19 crisis following the temporary pause on accepting new families into our House program.

Throughout that time, we have maintained our focus on the health and well-being of our guest families, staff and community by providing meal vouchers, snacks and toiletries to families while they care for their hospitalized child.

I am pleased to announce that we have received approval from RMHC Global to move forward and begin the process of admitting new families into Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley. This will be a phased approach, and we will begin by admitting a limited number of families at a time. This will be accompanied by a robust set of procedures designed to protect families and staff to the greatest extent possible, including heightened cleaning and disinfection protocols, social distancing measures, wellness checks and use of personal protective equipment.

We will continue to work closely with our Board of directors, partner hospital, local health authorities and RMHC Global to ensure we are taking every precaution to protect the children and families we serve and our team that serves them. We do not take this responsibility lightly. We will continue to keep you updated as we move forward through the various phases of program reinstatement.

Throughout this crisis, we have seen an overwhelming amount of support and encouragement from our community, which has helped fuel us during this difficult time. Thank you for your ongoing support as we begin this next chapter of mission delivery and continue to provide exceptional care for our families.

In Support of Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley

At Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley we envision a world where all children have access to the medical care they need, and their families are fully supported and actively involved in their children’s care.  Thanks to our community of supporters we can offer families compassionate care by creating and running programs aimed at improving the health and well-being of sick children and their families.

When a child is battling a medical crisis, our House provides families with all the comforts of home and eases some of the burdens they face every day. Together, we continue to enable access to medical care for seriously ill children, allowing a family-centered care approach to treatment and giving families what they need most during this critical time -– each other.
