Caitlin's Sophomore School Project

Hi my name is Caitlin O'Brien and for my sophomore year of high school, we create a personal project. Out personal project can be anything we want to do from our hobbies, interests, to making the world a better place. I decided to raise money for a charity since raising money for a charity gives something to people in need and makes things better for someone.

I chose the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley because of all the services it provides to families who have critically ill and traumatically injured children. The House provides families with many options to help them get through the difficult times they are facing:
- The house has 12 bedrooms which on most nights are
filled to capacity.
- The house gives families the option to be overnight guests
or guests just for the day.
- Day guests have access to the kitchen, dining area, living
area to relax, playroom for younger siblings and the
laundry facility.
- A Rejuvenation Room is offered for families who need a
few hours to relax or to shower.
- The House also offers programs to support the families
emotionally and physically such as pet therapy and
massages.

The Ronald McDonald House provides families with a home away from home where they can find the comfort, support and care that they need. The House works hard to create an environment where joy and hope are present.

Keeping families close together is important to me.
