2018 Ernest C. Trefz Memorial Sporting Clays Invitational

About This Event

Please join us as we host the Ernest C. Trefz Memorial Sporting Clays Invitational at the Ten Mile River Preserve in Dover Plains, NY on Friday, August 24, 2018. The event will benefit critically ill children and their families in the Hudson Valley and beyond.

Ten Mile River Preserve offers world class stations for the sport of clay pigeon shooting. Often described as golf with a shotgun, the sport differs from skeet and trap shooting in that it involves shooting clays at various locations which are launched at different velocities and angles.

This 7th annual charity sporting clays event is named for the late Mr. Trefz (1932-2017), who was a noted businessman, philanthropist and best known for operating 44 area McDonald’s restaurants. He was the longtime CEO of the Trefz Corporation, a family property management business, and the namesake of the University of Bridgeport’s business school.

Individual tickets cost $250 per person and sponsorship opportunities are available. Guns and ammo will be provided for 12 gauge and 20 gauge.

Ernest C. Trefz Memorial Sporting Clays Invitational

This 7th annual charity sporting clays event has been renamed for the late Mr. Trefz (1932-2017), who was a noted businessman, philanthropist and best known for operating 44 area McDonald’s restaurants. He was the longtime CEO of the Trefz Corporation, a family property management business, and the namesake of the University of Bridgeport’s business school.

Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley gives families with critically ill and traumatically injured children the gift of togetherness and keeps them close to the care and resources they need. The House has 12 bedrooms that are filled to capacity almost every night and we provide meals, laundry and respite services for our families. Located on the campus of the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, the House is just steps away from the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital. Since it opened in 2011, more than 1,500 families have stayed at the Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley.
